Three sites at the heart of a network

  • Site Vauban
  • Carmes
  • GIS Laboratory

Site Vauban

An historic site with a modern outlook. Students dispose of all the latest tools for studying human and social sciences on a site close to the university's accommodation and catering facilities. For example, the library is the envy of many: it provides access to an exceptional bibliographic base and is a perfect environment for individual and group work, with access to the latest multimedia tools.

Carmes

A modern scientific site (established in 1998) located in the heart of the city, where most of the scientific tuition is centred. It offers a comprehensive range of tools for practical work in Physics, Chemistry, I.T. and Biology plus a library and cafeteria. Students work in close contact with the teaching team making for a personal approach and an environment of exchange, a rich source of information for developing personal projects and identifying internships and company placements in France and abroad… In addition, the site is host to young scientists who are developing business projects in the Bio-engineering sector, thus providing a further guarantee of access to the most innovative tools available.

GIS Laboratory

The GIS site is located in the heart of the Georges Besse scientific park, next to the main communications networks and a rich fibre of newly established scientific companies. In addition, it is next to the Alès-Nîmes Ecole des Mines and the cyclotron. Students are welcomed into a friendly atmosphere that nevertheless offers high level and innovative training courses that are unique in France (for example, the 3D degree – De-pollution, De-construction, Waste Management and Disposal), top-level research activities and ultramodern facilities (class-100 clean room, mass spectrometer for isotopic analysis...).
