Students who hold a foreign secondary school diploma and wish to enroll in aFrench university for the first year of study must file a preliminary application of admission (demande d'admission préalable: DAP).
The procedure begins in December each year and follows a very strict calendar (it ends on January).
You should contact your closest university, as of the month of December prior to the academic year, for a preliminary application form for registration on the first cycle in a French university. This form - dossier vert - can be downloaded and must be sent to the university closest to your place of residence before the 31st January.
Algeria, Argentina, Benin, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Chili, China, Colombia, Congo (Brazzaville), Czech Republic, Gabon, Guinea, India, Ivory Coast, Japan, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mali, Marocco, Mauritius, Mexico, Russia, Senegal, Syria, Taïwan, Tunisia, Turkey, Vietnam, United States of America
must then register with the local CampusFrance office in order to be able to apply for admission and obtain your student visa. This is a mandatory procedure.

You should contact the French embassy's cultural service in your country from the month of December prior to the academic year for a preliminary application form for registration on the first cycle in a French university.
This form - dossier blanc - can be downloaded too and must be returned to the"Consulat de France" closest to your place of residence no later than the 31st January.
The French embassy's cultural service will examine the application and submit it to the selected university. You will be informed in writing by the 15th April whether your request has been accepted. In the event of non acceptance, the application will be forwarded to the university you choose in second position.
